India Makes Biggest Leap in Passport Power Index: Visa-Free Access to 59 Countries Now

...

India has achieved its largest-ever jump in the Henley Passport Index, climbing eight places from 85th to 77th in just six months. This leap reflects growing international recognition and enhanced diplomatic outreach, offering Indian passport holders visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 59 destinations globally — a significant improvement over previous years.

The Henley Passport Index, published by Henley & Partners, ranks global passports based on the number of destinations their holders can access without a prior visa. The latest update paints a dynamic picture of shifting global mobility — with India rising, while traditionally dominant Western passports like the US and UK see a slow decline.
